Sometimes exciting projects arise, full of challenges and that also have benefits beyond the professional world. Being able to do our bit for problems that affect the whole world, such as the fight against global warming, is always very gratifying. That is what we achieved with the briefing we received from Johnson Controls – Hitachi Air Conditioning, one of the world leaders in air conditioning systems born from the union of two pioneering companies with more than 100 years of history each.
The problem they needed a solution to was not a simple one: to bring together the technical documentation of their extensive product catalog on a digital platform easily accessible to users. As a large multinational firm, Johnson Controls – Hitachi Air Conditioning operates in 35 countries where 17 different languages are spoken. But who said fear? One of the things that define ROI UP Group since its inception is our multiculturalism, with native speakers from all over the world. So with this great technological, idiomatic and sustainable challenge, we got down to work.
A Digital Marketing Solution for Johnson Controls – Hitachi Air Conditioning
Until now, each local Johnson Controls – Hitachi Air Conditioning team managed documentation independently, publishing documents on their own websites or in private areas. This process was manual and very costly; they needed a unified quality standard to ensure that their manuals were always accessible. We came up with the solution: the airDocumentation platform. It is an advanced system that will make it possible to update and unify all product documentation worldwide. It enables direct, multinational and multilingual management and access to the technical documentation of Hitachi air-conditioning products. And with it, many emissions and natural resources will be saved for the planet.
Let’s take a look at its main characteristics:
- Multi-country and multi-language: segment products according to markets and display information to the user in their native language.
- Geolocation: locates the user and redirects to the site of his country.
- Generation of QR codes for the entire product catalog.
- Multiple options for document management such as direct download, sending by e-mail or through the main messaging applications.
- Predictive search engine.
- Advanced filtering system.
- Optimized SEO.
What the airDocumentation platform offers
To carry out this great project, we will provide support in infrastructure, web architecture, technology, CMS and RGPD (General Data Protection Regulation). At the technological level, the airDocumentation platform is characterized by a simple interface, oriented to offer a great usability, with an optimized SEO and a powerful CMS for the management of all the necessary entities. On this last point, it is also worth stopping to take a look at what the system has to offer:
- Data entry via API with external platforms such as PIM, among others.
- Alternatively, CSV files can be imported for product, category, document, etc. management.
- Creation and management of countries and languages.
- Banner management by country/language.
- API connection with platforms for the management of QRs and IP redirects: a single QR in the abbreviated version of the printed manual is enough to take the user to the site of his country and find the documents in the desired language.
- Automatic and/or manual SEO management: from the CMS you will be able to manage all the SEO attributes of the site.
- Creates regions and groups countries.
Green benefits of digital marketing
The ecological benefits of relying on the digital world to stop printing millions of physical documents are many. In the 21st century, all the costly work involved in providing paper documents for each product manufactured becomes meaningless. The estimated savings in emissions and natural resources that the new platform is expected to achieve by October 2023 speak for themselves:
- Savings of 160 tons of CO2 emissions.
- Savings of 33 million sheets of paper.
- Savings of 338 megaliters of water.
This great project we have developed for Johnson Controls – Hitachi Air Conditioning is the reflection of a change of mentality in large multinational firms: a shift towards more sustainable positions with the environment that in many cases are supported by technological solutions. We hope that little by little this trend that is beginning to emerge becomes commonplace and that other companies take the example of Johnson Controls – Hitachi Air Conditioning. The planet needs it and will appreciate every gesture.
